Review :
I bought this book a few weeks ago and I was at first mesmerized by its quality in drawings. I've got so many books on Michael that the 'contents' sometimes doesn't really matter cause you just can't buy a 'mainstream' book of Michael that doesn't deal with all the crap that he went through. Either we liked it or not!
So, this set aside, I was intrigued by the quality of the drawings and how the graphic novel was put together. Very PRO and THOROUGH. Nothing left out if you only consider the PUBLIC eye's view!
Is it a PRO or ANTI MJ book? Nah, It's the CRUEL reality, period! We, as fans, tend to highlight more the POSITIVE and UPLIFTING stuff Michael represented and we'd rather just FORGET all the mayhem that happened in his life.
This book takes you on a roller coaster ride through Michael's life from early success at Motown through all his glory both professionally as personally, through all the mayhem 'till his ultimately death. I would have given it more of POSITIVE shine but then yet I guess I'm too 'emotionally' attached to Michael to 'write' or here 'draw out' all the mayhem he shouldn't have encountered.
There for, I won't PRAISE this book to any LOYAL fan, NOT if you're still trying to COPE with losing Michael so sudden but its definitely a ' MARKER' to see how well you've HEALED in those 4 years.
I didn't regret buying the book though cause it does depict his 'life' in the public eye and the drawings are so real that you really feel the hurt and joy of an Icon, simply called Michael Jackson.
Daz.
